Made from 1/4" thick acrylic, our table leg templates are ideal for use as a router glide or tracing guide. The transparent templates guarantee precision, allowing you to incorporate intricate details into your work. Each Acrylic Woodworking Template consists of eight interlocking pieces that utilize our unique dovetail locking system. This system ensures secure and straightforward assembly during routing. The clear acrylic allows for perfect placement and alignment, ensuring each cut is accurate and each detail is precise.

To enhance your woodworking experience, we recommend using our Universal Mounting Plates for leg attachment and our specially designed Template Tape for affixing our clear templates to the wood.

Instructions for Use:

1. Select the Appropriate Template: Choose the template size that corresponds to your woodworking project, whether it be a dining table, coffee table, or bench.

2. Attach the Template: Use our recommended Template Tape to securely affix the clear acrylic template to your wood piece. Ensure the template is firmly attached to prevent any movement during the routing process.

3. Initial Routing: Using a handheld router, trace around the acrylic template, creating the primary outline of the table leg. This tracing step serves as a guide for the subsequent cutting and trimming steps.

4. Cut Excess Material: After routing, use a band saw or jig saw to remove the bulk of the excess material. We like to leave about 1/16" to an 1/8" material. This step makes the following trimming process easier and more efficient.

5. Trim to Perfect Shape: Next, use a router table or a handheld router equipped with a flush trim bit. Use this setup to remove the remaining excess material, thereby refining the shape of the table leg to perfectly match the template.

6. Add Finishing Touches: After the table leg is in its final shape, sand the piece to smooth any rough edges. Add an edge detail to further enhance the look of your table leg. This could be a 1/4" round over or a 1/8" bevel, depending on your preference.

7. Attach the Table Leg: With the table leg complete, use our Universal Mounting Plates to securely attach the leg to your table or bench.

8. Repeat for Remaining Legs: Follow the same steps for each table leg. Ensure consistent application of the process to achieve uniformity in all table legs.
