Metallic Colour Pigments are special effect pigments composed of mica nano-particles coated with various organic and inorganic pigments to create pearlescent and iridescent effects that mimic the natural look of stone and rock formations.
They can be added to any clear base to create an incredible colour or these pigments turn to a pastel colour if added to a white or grey base.
You can purchase Black Diamond Pigments in store at our Mississauga location or via our online store.
Application:
The application instructions are just guidelines. There are no set rules for applying these pigments, as they are mainly a creative component.
We start with a very small amount of pigment about ¼ of teaspoon and then mix.
Keep adding the metallic pigment until you reach your desired pigment colour. (each time you had more pigment remember to mix thoroughly)
We typically use a teaspoon per 10 L of Ecopoxy Liquid Plastic.
When mixing the pigment and Ecopoxy we use a mixer drill attachment. You can also mix by hand using a wooden paint stick.
Note: you can also mix pigment colours to achieve desired look.
Technology:
Metallic Colour Pigments are special effect pigments composed of mica nano-particles coated with various organic and inorganic pigments.
This creates pearlescent and iridescent effects that mimic the natural look of stone and rock formations.
These unique pigments are designed to be blended with EcoPoxy 100% solids clear epoxy.
When the metallic particles are mixed with epoxy they give the coating a shine that reflects light and creates dramatic, eye-catching colour.

We custom built this conference table for a local Mississauga client. We used a pair of live edge walnut slabs to create the "river" appearance up the middle. The epoxy river was created using Ecopoxy Liquid Plastic with Bora Bora Blue Metallic Pigment. We finished this table top with Rubio Monocoat Pure 2C Oil.
